One For Fun Ltd is a UK-based business specialising in the distribution of licensed toys and branded consumer products. Operating from a busy warehouse environment, the company manages a high volume of inbound stock and outbound orders, supplying customers across the UK and beyond.

As demand has grown, so too has the need for accurate stock control, efficient picking processes, and clear visibility across all warehouse operations. With multiple product lines, frequent shipments, and tight fulfilment timelines, One For Fun relies on robust systems and processes to ensure orders are picked, packed, and despatched accurately and on time.

To support continued growth and maintain operational control, One For Fun required a warehouse management solution that could provide real-time visibility, support demand-driven workflows, and integrate seamlessly with their existing ERP and carrier network.

The Challenges

Prior to implementing Canary7, One For Fun had limited visibility across the full warehouse lifecycle. It was difficult to track stock accurately as it moved through receipting, picking, and despatch, and there was no clear, real-time view of daily picking requirements. As order volumes grew, the team began to feel they were falling behind, with no simple way to understand what needed to be completed each day to meet demand. Traceability at picking and shipment level was also restricted, creating uncertainty around where stock was allocated once it left a location.

The Solution

Canary7 was introduced to remove these blind spots and provide One For Fun with complete operational oversight. A key focus was demand-driven replenishment, allowing stock to be checked in and managed correctly according to demand units of measure. This ensured inventory was available when needed and aligned more closely with how the business plans and fulfils orders.

To improve traceability during picking and despatch, a custom picking label was implemented that tracks items at container level. Each label clearly identifies which shipments and customers items are assigned to, maintaining visibility throughout the picking process and ensuring items remain fully traceable right through to despatch.

To support daily operations on the warehouse floor, two bespoke dashboards were created and displayed on TVs within the warehouse. These dashboards provide a clear, live view of what is ready for picking and what must be completed to meet daily demand. This gave the team a shared understanding of priorities, removed confusion, and ensured picking targets could be met consistently each day.

Integration and Automation

Canary7 provides and supports a fully managed integration with One For Fun’s Acumatica ERP, ensuring data remains accurate and synchronised across both platforms. Shipments are imported into Canary7 and processed through to despatch, with key dispatch information returned to Acumatica automatically. Purchase receipts flow directly into Canary7 for processing, and once completed, updates are reflected back in real time. Inventory adjustments initiated in Canary7 are also instantly created in Acumatica, maintaining consistency across systems.

Carrier integrations with FedEx, DPD, and DHL allow shipments to be consigned directly within Canary7, with labels and tracking numbers generated automatically and stored against each order. This further enhances visibility while reducing manual handling during despatch.
